Location & Road access

HKZV clubhouse, Zuiderstrand, the Hague, just south of Scheveningen harbour.

Beach access: Duivelandstraat / Pluvierstraat, The Hague. You are not allowed to drive your car through the dunes (note: €300 fine). We will arrange transport for participating boats. After registration you will receive the relevant contact details.

Coach boats can be launched from Scheveningen Harbour.

Parking

After handing your boat over to our tractor, you can park your car in the neighbourhood.

  • Parking on Duivelandsestraat is paid from 10:00 (€2.70/hour).
  • In good weather it can be busy, so you may need to park further away.
  • In the Vogelwijk (Dr. van Welylaan – also within walking distance) parking is free until 18:00, then paid until midnight.

Check‑in

Check in at the check‑in desk upon arrival. We will verify your registration and details such as sail number and emergency phone number. Additional fees (e.g. for drinks) can be paid via QR code, so please bring your smartphone with banking app. If you do not have a sail number, you can create one using tape. You will receive the number at registration – please bring your own tape.

Facilities

The clubhouse offers standard facilities such as toilets, showers, changing rooms and a bar.

Space around the clubhouse is reserved for boat storage. Boats will be guarded overnight. You must tie down your boat overnight. To create a ground anchor, we provide wooden beams and shovels (please bring your own line).

Sleeping on the beach is not permitted and fines are issued for doing so.

Finally

The races will be overseen by a professional race committee staffed by HKZV and De Maas, and supported by several rescue boats and a start ship. The KNRM lifeboat service will also be on standby in case of emergency. The event is organised under the auspices of the Royal Netherlands Watersport Association (Watersportverbond).

By registering you agree to the General Terms and Conditions (see the registration form). Participation is at your own risk. A requirement for participation is adequate insurance. Please provide your policy number and insurer when registering. Also check your policy for exclusions (especially whether participation in a race is excluded).
